BROCKET HALL, HERTFORDSHIRE – Sixteen-year-old golf prospect Louis Rickett has secured a landmark victory at the prestigious Faldo Series at Brocket Hall, winning the 16-and-under category in a thrilling sudden-death playoff to punch his ticket to the Grand Final in Dubai this November.
Held from April 5th to 8th 2026, the tournament pushed the young golfer to the limit. Navigating the challenging Brocket Hall layout, Rickett carded remarkably consistent rounds of 75, 72, and 74 to finish with a total aggregate score of 221. This stellar performance placed him in a tie for the lead in his age division, forcing a high-stakes playoff to decide the champion.
The ensuing playoff was a masterclass in resilience. As the tension mounted, Rickett held his nerve hole after hole. The battle finally culminated on the 3rd playoff hole, where the teenager read the green perfectly and decisively sank a high-pressure, 18-foot putt for birdie to claim the prestigious title.
The scale of the victory makes the achievement even more significant. This week marked the 30th anniversary of the Faldo Series, a cornerstone of global junior golf established by six-time Major Champion Sir Nick Faldo. Coinciding with the excitement of Masters Week, the Brocket Hall event drew its largest-ever field, with over 240 elite players travelling to compete across four different age categories.
In addition to lifting the Under-16 trophy, Rickett’s outstanding aggregate score of 221 earned him a highly commendable 6th-place finish in the overall combined field, proving his ability to compete with players well above his age bracket.
With the Faldo Series trophy secured, Rickett has guaranteed his place at the European Grand Final in Dubai this November, where he will have the opportunity to showcase his immense talent on a global stage.
